First Robotics Design Principles.

It's not RepRap, but good design is universal.

This will be a good series to follow.  Do you have a 1st in your area?  Unfortunately the nearest one to me is over 2 hours drive :(.  We as a community make the perfect mentors, and resources for these teams.
